Silicon Valley Shotokan Karate organizes and participates in a variety of karate special events in the Bay Area and around the world.

Instructors’ Training

We host invitation-only instructors’ training for Shotokan black belts, aimed particularly toward improving teaching skills. Rather than simply defer to those who have spent a long time in a given organization, our aim with these sessions is to have them be led by those who have proven themselves to be skilled instructors. If you are interested taking part, please contact us.

Seminars and Clinics

We host and support seminars, clinics and other special training events that bring respected guest instructors to the Bay Area.

The Shotokan Legacy Seminars series is another special event in which SVSK takes a key role.

And in 2014 SVSK was proud to support the WTKO International Summer Camp held nearby in Cupertino.

Year-end/New Year Festivities

At the end of every year SVSK organizes a unique Kick-a-thon charity event.

Special start of the year training includes doing at least 27 kata in a single session.

Other Events

Beach training, training in the park, and a host of other special training activities are available throughout the year.
