Karate Summer Camp
(cancelled for 2022)
Looking for a camp where your child will develop useful life-skills while encouraged to explore their creativity? We know that THEY want to have fun…and they WILL! But they will get so much more out of this camp than simply an activity to keep them busy.
At the core of our unique camp is practice of traditional Japanese Karate. But we will also work on self-defense skills (both physical and non-physical), some arts&crafts, engaging projects and indoor and outdoor play time.
Worried about COVID19? We are too! Even before the shelter-in-place officially began, we were practicing social distancing, encouraging use of hand sanitizer and wiping down surfaces with disinfectant before/between/after classes. Our Karate practice is done with social distancing already. Our self-defense and playtime will be modified as well. We have a forehead temperature scanner that is used for everyone as they enter. We are setting a maximum of 15 kids at each week of this camp. We have a gallon container of hand sanitizer, gallons of concentrated disinfectant spray (makes enough spray to sanitize the entire space every day for over a month) and a dozen tubes of disinfectant wipes.
The 2022 camp will be held for one week only at our primary location in Palo Alto.
Camp open to kids 6-12. We will probably have at least one experienced teen Karate student helping out. Instructor has been teaching Karate since 1984 and has taught many thousands of kids over the years.
Just $499 for each week! (we had to raise rates due to capping attendance limit due to COVID but we are still much more affordable than most specialty camps in this area). We are planning to run our camp on the following week only:
- July 11-15
- sibling discount: 10% off 2nd child in same family; 20% off 3rd child, during weeks they are attending together. Please contact us to obtain discount codes.
Camp hours are 9am-3pm. Extended care is additional $35/day for 7:30-9:00am or 3-5pm ($60 for both before and after on any given day). Please note that regular evening classes take place from 5pm.

Unstructured play time is important – kids can choose from an assortment of many dozens of games, or draw, or do arts&crafts.
Please help your kids pack lunch and snacks. We have a fridge and microwave that they can use. Lunch is not included but some snacks may be offered. We have a water cooler and microwave onsite and restrooms are a short walk away elsewhere in the complex.
Please note that this camp will not take place if we do not have a minimum of 8 kids registered by early July.
