Another New Sandan!
Andrew Wu passed his sandan (third degree black belt) exam at the end of this weekend’s seminar set by WTKO Chief Instructor Sensei Richard Amos. Great job! Wu Sensei usually teaches our Monday evening adult classes.

At this past weekend’s tournament, Silicon Valley Shotokan Karate received the highest honors. Our dojo was named “Best Martial Arts School.” Our Chief Instructor was also named “Instructor of the Year” for the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our annual charity kick-a-thon event took place the week of December 11-16. This year’s fundraising effort is for Direct Relief, a non-profit organization that helps where it is needed most. Self-Defense classes take place at Silicon Valley Karate on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, from 7pm. These classes are open to both experienced martial artists and those with no martial arts experience at all. Minimum age: 15. For more information, click here.
