Silicon Valley Shotokan Karate will hold our annual kickathon to benefit charity during regular classes the week of December 14th – 20th.
Children’s classes will do their kicks in classes throughout the week, and the big event for the adults will be Thursday evening, the 18th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm in our Redwood City dojo.
In keeping with recent tradition — and to keep the challenge worthy of our members — the adults will aim to do 2015 kicks and 2015 punches.
Previous kickathons have raised thousands of dollars for good causes, and we’re looking forward to another success this year.
This year our efforts will benefit Room to Read, an organization that promotes childhood literacy across the developed world. Dojo members, please go to this page on Room to Read’s donation management site to set up to manage your pledges for the kickathon. Please click the “Join Team” button in the upper right to add a page for yourself. Then be sure to send a link to that page out to all your friends and family so they can sponsor you!
As always, we recommend that everyone start adding extra kicks to their training early to work up to the full challenge. Are you ready?!
